Enhanced Resident Services
Enhanced Resident Services-Empowering residents of affordable housing to thrive through on-site support, connection, and community
About Enhanced Resident Services
Enhanced Resident Services
Community for Positive Aging (CfPA) partners with property management companies and property owners to provide customized resident services in subsidized housing communities. Through our Enhanced Resident Services team (formerly The Giving Tree), we support residents by fostering trust, stability, and a strong sense of community right where they live.
Our team meets with residents on-site, offering personalized support and resources to help individuals thrive—particularly those from historically underserved communities. By building relationships and promoting resident well-being, we help create inclusive, connected environments where everyone feels valued.
Our Goals:
Build community connections & reduce isolation
Encourage socialization and good neighbor skills
Work in partnership with property management for optimal housing stabilization and eviction prevention.
Improve individual well-being through inclusion, referrals and coordination of resources.
Our Programs
CFPA does not believe in simply handing out a box of food, a bus pass, and a list of potential employers. We invest in our residents and community members. We show them that they deserve to thrive, grow and realize their fullest potential regardless of financial constraints
To do this, our team schedules activities in our resident’s communities, providing a variety of programming, including:
Art classes such as craft-making for your apartment and seasonal gift making
Nutrition and wellness workshops;
Exercise such as walking tours to learn your neighborhood, to field trips to OMSI, The Oregon Zoo, Portland Art Museum, Lan Su Garden and Seaside.
Social events, such as game days, movie nights, community meals, and holiday celebrations; and
Volunteer opportunities and external classes throughout Portland
Participants in our Enhanced Resident Services’ programs regularly report improved health, increased community involvement, greater stability in their living situation, and a more positive approach to life.
CFPA’s Enhanced Resident Services:
Provides referrals to other partners and agencies to support residents
Develops materials and host social events to encourage participation on our programming
Customizes a package of classes and services, based upon survey data, tailored to the needs and budgets of the residents in each building
CfPA currently provides Enhanced Resident Services at Alder House Apartment, Dawson Park , The Morrison Apartments and Helen Swindell Apartments.
