Tyra Rucker

Tyra is a Southeast Portland native who loves to spend her time reading romance novels and tending to her thirty-one (and counting) plants. Tyra has been recognized for her ability to create safe spaces for individual to grow and be who they are. 

Tyra has extensive experience in counseling and apartment leasing. She completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology at Carroll College in Helena, MT. During this time, she found her love for community mental health and counseling while working as a Mental Health Technician. 

Tyra also received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. When working with clients, she enjoys meeting individuals where they are at and helping them feel empowered to create change and advocate for themselves. Tyra has a rich knowledge and experience in helping clients form goals and identifying barriers that may be preventing them from reaching these goals. She also has experience working with Oregon Fair Housing and Section 8 Housing Laws while navigating Apartment leasing. 

Outside of her professional career, you will find Tyra exploring the beautiful state of Oregon through hiking and camping!
