Passionate about food and helping others? Join our team as a Food Programs Volunteer and play a vital role in bringing nutritious meals to seniors in our community!
YOUR ROLE:
As a Food Programs Volunteer, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to support healthy nutrition for seniors through our various food programs. Whether it’s assisting with the preparation and serving of communal meals, transporting food to different locations, or setting up and distributing food at our on-site pantry, your efforts will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those aged 60 and over. Your dedication will help ensure that our community stays nourished and connected.
We currently need volunteer support for the following food programs:
Meals on Wheels: Help prepare and serve delicious meals to seniors through our twice-weekly lunch program.
Gleaning & Distribution: Support our Neighborhood Gleaners Program by collecting surplus food from local markets and delivering it to those in need.
Asian Food Pantry: Assist with the monthly setup and distribution of culturally specific food items to seniors in our Asian community.
Transportation & Setup: Transport food from the Hollywood Senior Center to various buildings, set up the pantry, and help distribute food to seniors.
Entertainment with Meals: Add a special touch by helping organize light entertainment for Meals on Wheels participants.

Time Commitment: We offer flexible opportunities to fit your schedule—volunteer weekly, monthly, or on a project basis.
Location: This position is primarily field-based, with travel throughout N/NE Portland. Office space is available at our main CfPA location in NE Portland.
